Dr Stuart Wight, our longstanding Treasurer recently passed and he will be greatly missed

Dr. Stuart Wight passed away at home on March 28, 2024 after losing his battle with pancreatic cancer.
He will be remembered and loved for his kindness, humour and service to the community.
Following in the footsteps of his father, a chiropractor in Edinburgh since 1924, Stuart also received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree (D.C.) in Canada and practised in the family clinic from 1962 until 1987 when he established the Dr. Stuart Wight & Associates Chiropractic Clinic in Haymarket.

Stuart moved with his wife Christine (58 years of marriage) and their four sons from Edinburgh to North Berwick in 1975. He commuted to Haymarket everyday to his clinic until retiring in 1998. While raising the boys, Stuart became involved with local charity work e.g. The North Berwick Environment and Heritage Trust. He was a founding member and Treasurer of the North Berwick First Responders always ready for ‘on-call’ duty. Closer to our hearts, Stuart served as the Treasurer for NB Movies (formerly North Berwick Cinema Club) from 2007 to 2023. We will miss him very much.
The funeral service will be at 1pm on Friday April 12th at St. Baldred’s Church, Dirleton Avenue. In lieu of flowers and according to Stuart’s wishes, donations are welcome to Aberlour Scotland’s Children’s Charity for which a collection box will be available at the church.

Movie Info For the past year, Sandra, her husband Samuel, and their eleven-year-old son Daniel have lived a secluded life in a remote town in the French Alps. When Samuel is found dead in the snow below their chalet, the police question whether he was murdered or committed suicide. Samuel’s suspicious death is presumed murder, and Sandra becomes the main suspect. What follows is not just an investigation into the circumstances of Samuel’s death but an unsettling psychological journey into the depths of Sandra and Samuel’s conflicted relationship.(Rotten Tomatoes)
